Ronda Rousey cut short her career in wrestling due to “ungrateful” fans and a packed schedule, she said. The 33-year old former UFC star told reporters she made the decision after considering whether her priorities lay with fans or with her family.

“We didn’t need the money. So, it’s just like, what am I doing it for if I’m not being able to spend my time and energy on my family, but instead spending my time and my energy on a bunch of f***ing ungrateful fans that don’t even appreciate me?” Rousey said. “This thing is, I love performing. I love the girls. I love being out there. But at the end of the day, I was just like ‘F*** these fans, dude.’ My family loves me. They appreciate me. I want all of my energy to go into them.”

Rousey spoke about her decision with Stephen Glover, professionally known as Steve O, on the Wild Ride Podcast on Thursday. She has yet to formally retire from wrestling, and her contract with WWE lasts until April 2021. However, a full-time comeback seems unlikely after Rousey previously left to start a family with MMA fighter Travis Browne.
