CNN reports Khabib Nurmagomedov will return to the UFC in September. Khabib’s first fight after serving a nine-month suspension will be against Dustin Poirier for the lightweight championship at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi, according to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The undefeated Nurmagomedov, currently has a record of 27-0, won UFC 229 against Connor McGregor last October in what was UFC’s biggest fight of the year. McGregor and Nurmagomedov were both suspended by UFC for a post-fight brawl following their title fight in Las Vegas. McGregor announced his retirement from UFC earlier this year.
