New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia makes MLB history earning his 250th career win. Sabathia became the 14th player to record 3,000 strikeouts and 250 wins. The left-hander allowed just three hits and one run in the Yankees 12-1 victory over the Rays.
Sabathia is 48th in all-time victories, now just one win behind Bob Gibson. In April, he became the 17th pitcher, and third left-hander, to record 3,000 career strikeouts. Sabathia has a career record 250-157 and won the AL Cy Young in 2007. In 12 starts this season, Sabathia is 4-4 with a 4.14 ERA pitching for the Yankees.
The six-time All-Star has previously announced that he will retire following the 2019 season.
