An Emerging NFC Challenger Wants to Secure Bengals Star Wideout Tee Higgins During Free Agency

An emerging NFC challenger seems keen on acquiring Tee Higgins in the upcoming free agency frenzy.

Higgins and the Cincinnati Bengals failed to reach a new contract agreement leading up to the 2023 season, which marks the final year of his rookie contract. Given the Bengals’ tendency to be financially prudent under owner Mike Brown, it appears probable that Higgins will test free agency for the first time in his career.

As per a former NFL executive interviewed by Evan Massey of NFL Analysis Network, the Green Bay Packers seem ready to make a significant splash in free agency, with Higgins being touted as a potential acquisition:

“I believe Green Bay is an intriguing one to monitor. With Jordan Love, they have their quarterback, and they’re determined to assemble a supporting cast around him. While content with their current crop of wide receivers, I perceive a strong inclination towards making a big move for someone like Tee Higgins.”

The Packers already possess a talented bunch of young pass-catchers flanking Jordan Love, including Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, Luke Musgrave, and Tucker Kraft. Nonetheless, they could reap the benefits of adding a seasoned standout like Higgins, who has notched two 1,000-yard seasons and 24 career touchdowns.

Historically, Green Bay isn’t known for splurging in free agency, but they do have ample cap space to bring in additional dynamic playmakers to bolster Love. Hence, it’s logical for them to contemplate the prospect of securing a player of Higgins’ caliber to fortify their already potent offensive lineup.
