LA Lakers Are Reportedly Targeting Trade For Terry Rozier

The Los Angeles Lakers are dreadful and we are only three games into their season.

The Los Angeles Lakers remain winless to start the 2022-23 NBA season after losing yet another home game, this time to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. The Lakers are one of two teams not to have won a single game this season, and the pressure from fans keeps mounting.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Lakers are interested in bringing Charlotte Hornets point guard Terry Rozier to help out their woeful shooting ways.

Rozier has emerged as a star, as he has averaged 19 points per game over the last 207 starts.

Terry Rozier was the No. 16 overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2015 NBA Draft. In four seasons with the Celtics, Rozier played 272 games, of which he started 30. He averaged 7.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in that span.

So far during the first two games of the 2022-23 season, Rozier has averaged 23.5 points, seven rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game.

The Lakers shot 6-of-33 from three-point range in the loss to Portland. Terry Rozier would help this in a big way. Los Angeles just doesn’t have enough shooting or enough defense around LeBron and Anthony Davis to make much leeway and their record shows it.

Through three games, the Lakers are shooting 21.2 percent from three. It’s not all Russell Westbrook’s fault, but he remains a big part of the problem. It’s going to be a long year.
