Utah Thrash Oregon Once More On Their Way To Winning The Pac-12 Championship

The Utah Utes defeated the Oregon Ducks for the second game in less than two weeks, putting an end to their dreams of a postseason run. They knocked the Ducks out of top-four contention the first time around, and this time, with a 38-10 victory in the Pac 12 Championship game on Friday night, they were able to deny them a ticket to the Rose Bowl.

Much like the game a couple of weeks ago, it was clear early on where the result was headed as Utah led early via the first of two Tavion Thomas touchdown runs. They would then lead 14-0 after the first quarter and went up by 23 at the half, effectively killing off any hopes of the Ducks to come back on them. The Utes defense was tremendous, holding Oregon to just 221 total yards of offense and forcing two turnovers. That handed the Utes, ranked #17 at present, their first conference title since they joined the conference ten years ago. Both teams will head into bowl season with identical 10-3 records, but one of them, clearly, will hold the upper hand in terms of momentum.
