Claims against Josh Giddey, a player for the Oklahoma City Thunder, have taken an unexpected twist following reports suggesting his minor association.
TMZ has reported that the young lady involved is unwilling to communicate with authorities, and her parents are also not cooperating.
Sources in law enforcement have highlighted the challenges they are encountering in acquiring information regarding the allegations circulating on social media, as no one is currently cooperating. This lack of cooperation makes it challenging for officials to ascertain if any regulations have been violated.
The accusations are based on imagery and footage of Josh with a young lady, including a photograph of them both bare-chested with a caption that has prompted serious concerns.
Though reports suggest the girl is 15 years old, her age has yet to be verified, and authorities are striving to confirm it. The NBA is also conducting an inquiry, but Giddey is presently permitted to play as no violations of the law have been established at this time.
Head coach Mark Daigneault confirmed that Giddey remains eligible to play and there have been no changes in his status from a basketball perspective. When questioned about the allegations, Giddey chose not to provide a comment.
