Following a year away from the top spot, Tom Brady has made a triumphant return with a fresh team to clinch the 2021 Super Bowl title. In Sunday’s grand finale, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers outplayed the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, with a scoreline of 31-9.

Brady’s previous Super Bowl appearance was donning the colors of the New England Patriots, securing victory in the 2019 championship game. At 43 years old, Brady has now hoisted the Vince Lombardi trophy a remarkable seven times throughout his illustrious career. His Super Bowl wins surpass any other quarterback in NFL history, with no one else claiming victory more than four times or even making it to the final showdown more than five times.

Many supporters of the Kansas City team had high hopes that Patrick Mahomes could be Brady’s potential successor. However, Brady has now firmly established himself well ahead of any contenders looking to match his unparalleled accomplishments in the near future.

Mahomes, hampered by a toe injury during the match, could only manage to secure points through field goals. Brady, on the other hand, completed 21 of 29 passes resulting in three touchdowns. The Buccaneers celebrated their second Super Bowl triumph in the 45 years since the franchise was established, with Brady earning the title of MVP for the fifth time, thus setting another remarkable NFL milestone.
