The Spanish team secures a win over Switzerland, while on the flip side, Italy emerges victorious against Belgium

Both teams have determined to advance to Wembley Stadium in London for the Euro 2020 semifinals. Those two teams are Spain and Italy, who clinched victories on Friday and are now set to battle each other in the English capital. Spain achieved a triumph over Switzerland, who had recently defeated France in the previous round. Spain opened the scoring with a deflected goal after eight minutes. Conversely, the Swiss team remained resilient.

Xerdan Shaqiri eventually equalized in the 68th minute following a defensive error by the Spaniards. Despite receiving a red card in the 77th minute, the Swiss team pushed the game to extra time and then succumbed 3-1 in the penalty shootout. The magic from the spot was not enough for Switzerland as Spain advanced. Italy followed suit without needing extra time or penalties to defeat Belgium. Nicolo Barella netted the first goal of the match after 31 minutes, and Lorenzo Insigne extended their lead to 2-0 just before halftime with a splendid finish. Romelu Lukaku managed to score for Belgium from a penalty just before halftime. However, this was the only goal Belgium could produce, setting up an anticipated matchup between two European powerhouses on Tuesday.
