Rachel Nichols Divulges Distasteful & Insulting Remark From Former Workplace Executive Online

Rachel Nichols recently narrated a disturbing incident involving an executive at a past job.

Famously recognized for her tenure at ESPN, Nichols deliberated on the encounter during an appearance on ‘South Beach Sessions’ with Dan Le Batard. She recounted a discussion she had with a superior while she was expecting.

She indicated, “During my pregnancy, I hesitated for so long before informing them. I hesitated because I knew that this was not going to bode well for me professionally.” Further details available here. “I had been married for ten years before deciding to have children, and a significant part of that contemplation was, ‘Do I want a little human in my life?’ but also ‘How will this impact the thing that I’ve fought for, that I’ve toiled for so diligently?’”

Nichols refrained from disclosing her pregnancy for a while because she had a premonition that it wouldn’t be well received by her superiors at the time.

The unnamed executive, as per Nichols, immediately expressed doubt about her future at the company upon learning about her pregnancy.

Recollecting the encounter, she added:

“The executive looked at me and said, ‘This is wonderful, congratulations, I’m so pleased for you, it’s been a pleasure working with you.’”

She also stated that she was informed that she would not be able to fulfill her job responsibilities effectively if she had a child, as it would disrupt her timetable.

Since departing from ESPN, Nichols has secured multiple roles, including on FS1’s revamped ‘Undisputed.” Although she didn’t reveal the executive’s identity or the company, many speculate this incident occurred during her time at The Worldwide Leader in Sports.
