The Chicago Bulls and DeMar DeRozan returned to the court on Sunday after a few weeks off, and they made an immediate impact, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 115-110 at home. Obviously, DeRozan was the star player, scoring a season-high 38 points despite having only recently been cleared by the league’s standards.

LeBron James played very well for the Lakers, who are without Anthony Davis for the next month or so, scoring 31 and grabbing 14 rebounds in the loss. Elsewhere, the Phoenix Suns kept up their tremendous season as they rolled past the Charlotte Hornets 137-106. The damage was mostly done in the first quarter as they outscored their visitors 37-15 in the opening 12 minutes to the set the tone. And they just never looked back from there. Keeping up their team’s theme, they had nine players in double-digits here, with Devin Booker joining the mix after they had eight score ten+ in their last outing. JaVale McGee was the leading scorer with 19 in just 16 minutes of play while the Hornets saw Miles Bridges drop 26 in defeat.
