MNF: The 49ers ‘Humble’ the Rams For Their First Win at Home in Almost a Year

In the first eight games of the 2021 NFL season, the Los Angeles Rams have only lost once. They’ve lost two straight games in the last two weeks, including a ‘humbling’ 31-10 loss to the 49ers on Monday Night Football in San Francisco. On this particular evening, who was the main offender? Samuel Deebo While Jimmy Garoppolo did a good job at quarterback, it was the wide receivers who gave the Niners the most energy.

He scored two touchdowns, one on an eight-yard run and one on a 40-yard pass, and had over 100 all-purpose yards. His first TD put them up by 14 at the half while his second saw them go up by 24, effectively killing off the game for them. The defense did its part as well, picking off Matthew Stafford twice and allowing just 278 yards from the Rams’ usually high-octane offense. It was a balanced game plan from the hosts, and that paid off as they improved to 4-5 with a second win in their last three. They are back in the hunt now, it would appear, after a horrible month-long losing run. The Rams, meanwhile, are 7-3 and trail the Cardinals by a game in the NFC West currently.
