Los Angeles Rams takes in Marcus Peters of the Kansas City Chiefs

A few days ago, Adam Schefter had informed that the Los Angeles Rams may acquire All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs. On Friday, the Los Angeles agreed to do the same. As per the report the details of the trade will be processed when the new league will start on 14th March 2018. So, the Los Angeles has not disclosed any further information about this accusation. It is also unknowns that what the Chiefs will get from the Los Angeles Rams. But, for now, the team is expected to get a package of draft picks, not players, in return.

Peters was referred as the first-team All-pro in 2016 and he is also a two-time Pro Bowler. As per the report he has compiled an NFL-leading 19 interceptions since being drafted 18th overall. Talking about his salary, his salary cap for this season will be around $1.74 million. If compared, it is around one-ninth of Johnson’s cap hit last year. ย After this, the Rams would then have until May 3 to pick up Peters’ fifth-year option for 2019.

When the Rams entered the season, the team was desperately looking for a cornerback. As per the report, Johnson, who has played last two years under the franchise tag, and Nickell Robey-Coleman, slot corner will be work as the unrestricted free agents. Teamโ€™s second cornerback, Kayvon Webster is now suffering from Achilles tendon problem and will be out for more days.

The recent acquisition has given the Rams flexibility in salary-cap and it is now expected that they will use that on pending free agents which include Lamarcus Joyner and Sammy Watkins. The team also acquires defensive tackle Aaron Donald to such an extension which will make Donald as the game’s highest-paid defensive player ever. However, Peters had gone through many issues which had affected his careers but now The Rams are hopeful to see the best gameplay from Peter.
