With 113 victories, the 60-year-old is the winningest coach in program history, having led the club to the national title game once and the College Football Playoff twice since 2018. This year, his squad finished 11-1 in the regular season, with their only defeat coming at home against Cincinnati. Kelly will be the first coach in school history to quit one team for another, and he will do so at a time when the Irish are still in contention for a top-four spot.
