The Los Angeles Lakers are having a difficult time catching a break right now. Anthony Davis suffered an injury that will keep him out for about a month, the team was on a two-game losing streak heading into Tuesday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns, and now this. Of course, there’s a chance that LeBron James may be hurt, or at the very least handicapped, in the near future. James rolled his ankle on a layup attempt in the third quarter of their eventual 108-90 home loss to the Suns.

He still concluded the game, and he managed to score 34 points, but the Suns were just much too balanced and deep to be kept up with. Devin Booker led the way for them with 24 while Deandre Ayton posted his typical double-double with 19 points and 11 boards. As a whole, four of their five starters and seven of their stars had ten or more, leading to the comfortable victory. Elsewhere, the New Orleans Pelicans found a way to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers despite the best efforts of Damian Lillard. The guard, who is said to be either wanting to leave town or be brought some extra backup, dropped 39 before being ejected in a 111-97 loss to the now 11-21 Pelicans. It’s a big, notable win for the Pelicans as it gave them their first three-game winning streak of the 2021-22 season while also demoting the Blazers to just 13-19. The Pelicans were led by Brandon Ingram’s 28 while Nickeil Alexander-Walker showed out to score 27, 22 of which came in the second half as NOLA took control.
