Harvard-Westlake high schools closed its two-campus after an Instagram post from Jonathan Martin

The authority of Harvard- Westlake High School has closed down its two-campus located in Los Angeles are on Friday. The authority has taken this step after it found an Instagram post with an image of a shotgun from the official account of alumnus and former NFL offensive lineman Jonathon Martin. Martin, the former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman has struggled with mental health issues which caused by a bullying scandal happened in 2013. Martin was grilled by Los Angeles police after this post. As per the report, along with the gun image, the post also contains two former teammates who had harassed him during that time.

In a message sent to the students, Harvard-Westlake’s authority stated “The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is always our primary concern So, out of an abundance of caution, we made the decision to close school today. The school’s private security team is working with the Los Angeles Police Department, which is present on both campuses. With these precautions in place, we believe there is no imminent threat to our campuses or our school community.”On Friday, Rick Commons, President of Harvard Westlake also confirmed that an Instagram post from @jmart has led to do this.

The image posted on Martian’s Instagram account consist message “When you’re a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge,” and also included names of former Miami Dolphins players Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey.

After getting the news, the Harvard-Westlake prep school was evacuated earlier Friday. But, till now it is not cleared that whether Martin has posted the photo himself or someone have done this.

It may be noted that, in 2013, Martin left the Miami Dolphins after the bullying incident conducted by teammates. After that, NFL carried out an internal investigation and found that Incognito, Pouncey, and teammate John Jerry were involved in the harassment case. After that, NFL suspended Incognito for the final eight games and not allowed him to play the 2014 season.  As per the investigation report submitted by NFL, they threatened Martin and said they will rape his sister. However, the police are now investing more to solve this case.
