Their next challenge in the quarterfinals will be Ukraine, who will battle against them in Rome after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Sweden in extra time in the other match of the day. Ukraine took the lead 1-0 courtesy of Oleksandr Zinchenko in the 27th minute, but Emil Forsberg equalized just before halftime. The scoreline remained unchanged in regulation, leading to additional time. Marcus Danielson’s red card in the 98th minute proved crucial for Sweden, as they eventually succumbed due to fatigue, allowing Artem Dovbyk to become the unlikely hero in the 121st minute. The upcoming clash with England will determine a spot in the semifinals to be held in London.
