Warriors Continue to Win As Tatum, Harden, And Giannis Shine

Friday night in the NBA was a huge night, with a full slate of games to watch, and that meant that some major names were bound to take centre stage. That is precisely what occurred. We’ll start in Boston with the Celtics and Jayson Tatum, who led the Celtics to a 130-108 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. He led the hosts with 37 points and 11 rebounds, overcoming a sluggish start in which he made only one of his first five attempts. Despite the return of LeBron James after an eight-game absence, the purple and gold dipped below.500, while the C’s improved to 8-8 with the win.

James Harden was also having a banner night on the evening, helping the Brooklyn Nets come from behind by as many from a 19-point deficit to defeat the Orlando Magic 115-113. Harden had 36 points, 19 of which came from the charity stripe, as well as ten rebounds. And he fell two assists short of a triple-double. Not a bad outing, and it made up for the lack of Kevin Durant in the lineup. Giannis was not to be outdone by the previous two, though, and we have to mention his exploits as the Milwaukee Bucks ground their way past the Oklahoma City Thunder 96-89. Giannis was fairly quiet with ‘just’ 21 points offensively, but he also had a monstrous game on the boards, picking up 19 rebounds. He’d also dish out seven assists and recorded a ferocious block at one stage that will be in highlight clips for a while. Meanwhile, in Detroit, the Golden State Warriors rode the shooting of Jordan Poole to defeat the Pistons 105-102 without Steph Curry featuring. That makes them 14-2 so far, and it continues to show they actually are a very good team and a contender once again.
